Dearest Soul~Spirit, My Amber,
This is a song I felt you should hear,
Especially since we talked today,
My Sincere Love...
It's Come Talk to Me, by Peter Gabriel.
I know that with you, my honest artist, it is never really a matter of one loved~one not talking, so much as it is a matter of the other, listening, patiently. ^.^
I picked the making of the video version, so you can see a bit of how Peter thinks, and what the song is about. The video and music are on the right......in the sidebar>
I Love You,

What I See
Need I words
Oh, I wish not
Though desire binds me
To express a lot
About this light
That defines your face
Revealing all your wondrous grace
...
Were I a musician
Yes, I would play
For you a lovely song each day
Were I a poet
Oh, I would make
Your daily sonnet
For beauty's sake
You are just so angelic to me
I want for you
And the world to see
The light!
The light!
The shadows true!
Rainnaissance paintings they make of you!
For your serene and gentle face!
It drives my heart a rapid pace!
Da Vinci's passed!
Carravaggio too!
Waterhouse, gone!
What can we do!
I've but one choice!
'Tis plain to see
With brush and pigment
Set this free
This desire
This passion
And this pain
To show
What's seen within again
Yet silent now
I can keep not
Desire I've to express a lot
About this light
That defines your face
Revealing all your wonderous grace

A Day to Remember
Here you are
There you were
Like a rare flower on a plain
Like a ray of sunlight
Steadily, gracefully, shining
Through a lone space in the clouds
There I was in a realm of happiness
Like a single shell-shocked soldier
Being taken from a combat zone
On a padded satin stretcher
And not alone
High on the medicine that saves me
Staring up at you through that golden ray of sunshine
You're a lovely angel nurse, holding my hand
In your care, there's not a scratch left on me
And with the smoke cleared
A spring breeze suddenly has come to me
Through winter, your fragrance on it
You are a living, graceful masterpiece
Before my eyes
Carressing my ears
Touching my heart every day
And on the bus, you took my hand
You put your head on my shoulder
And I felt you were mine then, for now
You're so very much more than enough, forever
Thank you for saving me
My Love

Amber
Her eyes are light,
The shape of happiness
Her nose is smooth,
Reminiscent of a cuddly cat's
Her lips are lines and radiant shapes,
Painted with Vermeer's brush
And when she is a 'mirth with me,
My face must be aflush...

The Gift
We cannot keep the sunshine
We cannot keep the rains
Nor pretty fallen snowflakes, upon our window panes
We cannot keep the oceans, nor mountians, nor the sky
We cannot even keep ourselves
No sense in asking 'why'
Lovers cannot keep Their beloved
Though their love be whole and true
But I can keep
Thank you for the gift of your love
*
Here is the original one I wrote in New York between our phone calls, when I'd asked if you would like a poem, so I wrote one and called you back and read it to you...

Nor pretty fallen snowflakes, upon our window panes
We cannot keep the oceans, nor mountians, nor the sky
We cannot even keep ourselves
No sense in asking 'why'
Lovers cannot keep Their beloved
Though their love be whole and true
But I can keep
The Love You give
While I dream of 'keeping' you
While I dream of 'keeping' you
Thank you for the gift of your love

I cannot keep a flower
Nor can I keep the sea
I cannot keep the sunshine
Nor the summer breeze touching me
I cannot keep my parents
Nor my friends so dear
But your love and mine for you
I wish to hold it near
If I could take one thing with me
Into eternity
It would be you
My lovely cherub
So our love
Might forever
Be
Worry not about the time
As you wouldn't by the sea
Nor with a flower, or the sky
Don't ever wonder how or why
Please don't ever try
Just be beautiful,
And with me
Until the time is nigh
